# Third-Party Notices

This file lists the third-party components used by Pearl Miner and
the license under which each component is used. Full license texts are in
`LICENSES/`.

The project itself is licensed under Apache-2.0. See `LICENSE` and `NOTICE`.

Copyright notices for each upstream crate or package remain with its authors.
The selected license for a dual- or multi-licensed component is the one shown
in the "License used" column; the upstream alternatives are shown for
traceability.

## Host daemon (Rust workspace)

The Rust standard library is statically linked into `prlminer` and the GUI
under the Rust project's MIT OR Apache-2.0 terms; its notices are carried by
the Rust toolchain and are not vendored here.

## Desktop GUI (Tauri Rust workspace)

The GUI has its own `Cargo.lock`. The table lists its third-party crates for
the Windows and Linux targets. Cross-platform-only optional packages that are
never linked on either target are not listed. First-party path crates
(`pearl-miner-gui` and the `prl-*` workspace crates) are Apache-2.0 and are not
repeated here.

## Desktop GUI (Node.js build tooling)

## Native GPU components

The kernel packs are original, clean-room CUDA/C++ sources in `native/`. They
are built into shared libraries (`.dll`, `.so`) and are distributed under
Apache-2.0. No CUTLASS, cuBLAS, cuDNN, or other third-party GPU source is

The CUDA Toolkit headers and compiler are build-time tools. The Docker runtime
image is based on `nvidia/cuda:*-runtime-ubuntu*` and therefore contains the
NVIDIA CUDA runtime; NVIDIA's CUDA Toolkit End User License Agreement is
reproduced in `LICENSES/NVIDIA-CUDA-Toolkit.txt`. Native artifacts for Windows
and Linux do not bundle the CUDA runtime and use the runtime supplied by the
installed NVIDIA driver.

## Official Pearl ISC reference

The official Pearl Research Labs reference tree (`reference/pearl`, ISC) was
consulted as a protocol and consensus specification and as a behavioral test
oracle only. Its ISC notice is reproduced verbatim in
`LICENSES/ISC-Pearl-Research-Labs.txt`.

Each native module's `PROVENANCE.md` was checked for reused ISC code:

No kernel pack reused ISC code. `native/verifier` is the only intentional
ISC-code reuse: it links the unmodified ISC crates and retains their copyright
and permission notice in `LICENSES/ISC-Pearl-Research-Labs.txt`, as listed in
its section above.

## Native verifier DLL (`native/verifier`)

`prl_proof_verify.dll` is a Rust `cdylib` that exposes
`verify_plain_proof_ffi` and links the official Pearl verifier. It is the only
component in this repository that intentionally reuses ISC code. The wrapper
source under `native/verifier/src` is original Apache-2.0 code; the linked
crates are used unmodified.

`zk-pow` and `pearl-blake3` have no per-directory license file; the reference
monorepo root ISC license applies and is reproduced in
`LICENSES/ISC-Pearl-Research-Labs.txt`. The plonky2 texts are in
`LICENSES/plonky2-LICENSE-MIT.txt` and `LICENSES/plonky2-LICENSE-APACHE.txt`;
the bincode text is in `LICENSES/bincode-MIT.txt`.

The DLL has its own resolution in `native/verifier/Cargo.lock`. Its remaining
transitive crates are permissively licensed (MIT, Apache-2.0, ISC,
BSD-2-Clause, Zlib, Unlicense, or CC0-1.0) and are build-time or statically
linked; no copyleft runtime dependency is included.

## Excluded components

The quarantined trees and their vendored dependencies are not used, not linked,
and not distributed. CUTLASS and other third-party GPU libraries are not
present in this repository. No license is listed for a component that is not
shipped.
